Ascent Launches Proprietary AI Platform

August 2025 · AI & Innovation · 6 min read

Ascent Companies and Ascent Construction Group today announced the launch of a proprietary AI platform designed to increase operational efficiency across every stage of the real estate lifecycle — from site selection through long-term asset management.

The platform represents a multi-year investment in internal tooling and data infrastructure. It integrates directly with Ascent's existing workflows in construction management, accounting, draw processing, and portfolio reporting, and is live across every active Ascent property.

AI Confirms — It Does Not Decide

A guiding principle of the platform is that AI does not make decisions. Our talented team uses AI to confirm, predict, expedite, and analyze — but the human remains in command. This is particularly important in commercial real estate, where decisions carry long-duration consequences and require judgment grounded in local knowledge.

"Our platform is built to strengthen our team's decision-making, not replace it," said Brad Richardson, President and Founder of Ascent Companies. "We use AI to uncover signals in the data that would be impossible to find manually, and we use it to free our team from repetitive work so they can focus on judgment-heavy work."

Five Active Use Cases

The platform has shipped capabilities across five distinct business functions:

  • Site Selection & Market Analysis. AI-driven market analytics for identifying optimal locations based on employment, migration, demographic, and regulatory signals.
  • Pre-Development. Streamlined feasibility analysis and underwriting with automated comp pulls and cost-benchmarking.
  • Construction Management. Real-time tracking and scheduling optimization across active projects, with exception alerts that surface risks early.
  • Draw & Accounting Management. Automated reporting, budget variance detection, and forecast-driven capital calls.
  • Long-Term Asset Management. Predictive analytics for portfolio performance, tenant retention signals, and capital allocation across the stack.

Ascent's integrated technology stack powers every stage of the real estate lifecycle.

Built In-House, On Purpose

The platform is fully proprietary. Ascent made the deliberate choice to build the core in-house rather than stitch together third-party tools, giving the firm complete ownership of the data model and the ability to iterate rapidly as the business scales.

"Real estate is a data-rich business that has historically been data-poor," Richardson noted. "Owning our data and our tooling is going to be a structural advantage for Ascent over the next decade."

What's Next

The team is rolling out additional capabilities through the remainder of 2025, including investor reporting automation and a tenant-facing concierge pilot at select properties. Investors and partners interested in how Ascent applies AI to execution can reach out directly.
